For Parent-Controlled Kids Cell Phones, TicTalk is the Best Choice

picture15When it comes to kids cell phones, TicTalk is the kind of phone that will let you have more control over your child’s activities.  This latest product from Enfora ($99) is also appealing to kids because it has 5 LeapFrog educational games such as: Monkey Math, Monkey Spelling, Math Defender, Hangman, and Fact Attack.

Parent Controls

Before giving it to your child, you need to go to Enfora’s web site and set up an account for the phone.  You can program until 23 numbers of friends and family (including one emergency number that you can set – either 911 or another number).

Aside from this, you can also authorize only certain numbers to dial out and call in.  Moreover, you can control when and how the phone will be used such as setting a limit to the number of minutes that your child can use in a given time.

Walkie-Talkie Phone

Among the kids’ cell phones, TicTalk functions and looks more like a walkie-talkie than a regular phone.  It does not have a keypad.  Instead, it is equipped with monochrome LCD screen showing remaining battery life, time, and caller ID.

In placing calls, kids will only navigate a menu on the screen and then choose from the list of phone numbers that you authorized.  It’s easy to navigate using the scrolling buttons on the right-hand side of the phone.
